Montreal - October, 1970

Known in Canadian history as "The October Crisis". I took an overnight bus to Montreal to witness events unfold. Arriving as dawn broke I spent the morning photographing what I saw and ended up in jail for my trouble.

It was around 1pm when I took some photographs of the Jacques Cartier bridge. A few minutes later I was surrounded by police and, without explanation, put in jail. Several hours later they explained that I had been photographing undercover officers. They gave me my developed film and told me to "leave town".
